Compassion is an essential part of any spiritual and religious life. Join us for our year of Living Compassion.
Love is the doctrine of our church; The quest of truth is its sacrament,And service is its prayer. To dwell together in peace, To seek knowledge in freedom, To serve humanity in fellowship, To the end that all souls shall grow in harmony with the divine-- Thus do we covenant with each other...

What happens when you put Vision to Action?
What you imagine as important becomes important.
Vision to Action, or V2A, is our strategic plan for the next five years. It is the culmination of a long standing and evolving vision about what this church should be. It has elements honoring our long history in theological reflection, humanist commitments to being the best we can be, justice centered values to leave the world a better place, and the yearning to connect more deeply with each other and our city. V2A synthesizes reflection done in Chart & Compass, the last strategic plan, the work done in our Appreciative Inquiry events, the composition of our “Ends” or purpose statements, and an engagement with many members of the church about how they hope First Unitarian Church will look after the next five years. This comprehensive plan addresses our goals for the next five years and beyond.
V2A asks us to continue a legacy we have inherited of health and vitality as a church and get to work, first becoming better at what we do now and then expanding our reach beyond our campus to impact the wider world.
I hope you will read through all of the V2A materials and see vision coming alive for a new chapter in our history as a liberal religious presence in Dallas, Texas that is genuinely inclusive, rationally spiritual, and joyfully deep.
