The First Unitarian Church of Dallas is located in the heart of beautiful north Dallas. With a growing membership of over 1,000, we have been committed to being a Teaching Congregation for 50 years. Our church is the oldest and largest UU church in North Texas. With two full-time ministers on staff, we invite you to learn more about us and our programs.
Our Senior Minister, Dr. Laurel Hallman, has been working with Intern Ministers for over 15 years. She has Fellowship as a Minister of Religious Education and as a Parish Minister, and is a former member of the Ministerial Fellowship Committee of the UUA.
The Intern Minister position at The First Unitarian Church of Dallas is full-time and offers experience in large church parish ministry under the guidance of an experienced ministerial staff. You learn ministry by doing ministry: preaching in the pulpit on several Sundays, working with various committees, performing rites of passage, creating and participating in religious education programming, being involved in pastoral care and counseling, etc. You also have the opportunity to learn about the Carver Model of church governance, church administration, and fund raising.
We are an excellent site for consideration if you are seeking a worship and preaching centered church, large church ministry, or have an interest in practical spirituality in the congregational setting.
Our Intern Committee meets monthly with the Intern to provide support and reflection. Evaluation feedback is offered in an affirming yet candid manner.

We invite qualified applicants seeking an internship of 9 to 12 months (beginning each summer and ending May 31 of the following year) to apply.
