Xolani Kacela, a member of First Church since 2005, was granted Preliminary Fellowship by the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Committee in 2007. Rev. Kacela is a graduate of Morehouse College, Boston University, Brite Divinity School, and expects to be granted his Ph.D. in Pastoral Theology from Brite in May, 2008. He is a chaplain in the Texas Air National Guard and has served as a Hospice chaplain since 2001.

After interviewing him in 2006, the First Unitarian Church of Dallas Board agreed to sponsor his candidacy for UU ministry. In addition, Xolani received our church’s Raible Scholarship for Theological Education in 2007. He brings great learning and skill to pastoral care ministry.
