Boatright served on the music staff of First Unitarian Church
for 43 years, first as organist/choir accompanist and then as
Director of Music. Upon her retirement on May 18, 2003, she was
given the honorary title Director of Music Emerita.
Ms. Boatright, pianist, co-founded
the Walden Chamber Music Society in 1981. She was also Artistic
Director and co-founder of Voices of Change, the professional
contemporary chamber music ensemble of the Southwest United States.
With Voices of Change, she has won the Adventuresome Programming
Award given by ASCAP for four seasons. She has been a soloist
with symphony orchestras since the age of twelve, including an
appearance with the Boston Pops. Ms. Boatright has performed in
major cities and performance halls of Western and Eastern Europe,
the former Soviet Union, Central and South America and the United
States. She is a former Associate Professor of Music at Texas
Christian University and the University of Texas Arlington. She
has also served as Adjunct Professor at Southern Methodist University
and UT Dallas.
