Daniel Kanter Called by the Congregation
The Board is pleased to announce the results of the October 28, 2007 vote to call the Rev. Dr. Daniel Kanter. After he candidated for two weeks, the Congregation voted overwhelmingly to invite Dr. Kanter as our next Senior Minister, and he enthusiastically accepted to a packed sanctuary. It was a significant day in the life of the church, and we appreciate all of your interest throughout the candidating
process, especially your involvement in the vote. A total of 443 voting members signed in and obtained a ballot. Of those, 393 people voted for, 35 people voted against, and 8 people abstained.
If you were unable to attend the October 28 service, we encourage you to listen to Dr. Kanter’s sermon online, or purchase a copy from the AV table in Channing. We are filled with optimism for the future and gratitude that Dr. Kanter has accepted our call.
A tremendous thank-you goes to the nine-member Search Committee, whose members spent so much time and energy over the past nine months discerning our congregation's needs and evaluating and recommending Dr. Kanter as our next Senior Minister. Dr. Kanter will begin his tenure as senior minister in 2009.
