By the beginning of June, campaign volunteers will call on each church member to ask for his or her pledge, which can be paid out over three years. (The accompanying chart illustrates the number of pledges at various giving levels necessary to reach our goals.) Chart and Compass initiatives, which campaign contributions will support, include improvements and expansion of our facilities to accommodate increasing church membership and the expanded programming.
“…I have come to realize that actually all of us are temporary. …Some …have lifetimes yet to live in this church. Some have passed through leadership and are enjoying senior status. But we’re all temporary here….more than all of us who call this our church, there is a great cloud of witnesses who are no longer with us, who even in their time were temporary, but who invested in the future of our church…so that we could be here today. So I take a lesson from our history…I’ve made my three-year pledge….It’s an investment in the future.”
