Chart and Compass 2010 One-Year Update December 10, 2006 (pdf)
March 18, 2007 Update
-
Facilities: ArchiTexas, the distinguished architectural firm
the church has retained, has created two master-plan options
for our campus expansion, one budget-driven, the other program-
driven. The Facilities Team has reviewed the two
plans and is meeting with church staff to establish a direction
for developing one of the plans to the point we are
ready to show it to the congregation, our neighbors, and,
eventually, the City of University Park. -
Capital Campaign: As of March 4, the Chart and Compass
2010 Capital Campaign had received pledges for a total of
$4.86 million toward our $9-million goal, with 116 pledges
so far. Volunteers are contacting all First Church members
over the next few months to schedule visits to discuss the
church’s future and the need for broad-based, generous support
to achieve our vision for the future. Please accept the
volunteers’ calls and give serious consideration to joining
those who have already pledged -
Infrastructure Implementation: We have signed an agreement
with the Center for Nonprofit Management to implement
the recommendations from the Infrastructure Review
completed last fall. The initial phases of this project include
enhancement of the computer and phone systems, staff training,
and development of improved office procedures,
job descriptions, work processes, etc. Janet and Wyatt Davis
of Davis Interventures, the consultants who conducted the
infrastructure review, are working closely with Executive
Director Donna Zimmerman and Accounting Manager Tim
Lozon, with support from Project Manager Tom Kirwin. -
Project Updates: The Chart and Compass 2010 Leadership
Team meets monthly to receive updates on projects and to
provide tactical guidance. All church members are
welcome to attend to keep up with our progress and
provide input. Meetings are on the second Thursday of
each month, at 7:00 p.m., in RE Room 204. The next
meeting will be on April 12.
