June 13, 2007 Update

• Facilities: The Facilities Team (led by Steve Crozier) and Neighborhood-Relations Team (led by Pat Davidson) have reached an agreement with our immediate neighbors addressing their concerns about our master plan. This month our rezoning request will be submitted to University Park’s Planning and Zoning Commission and the City Council for consideration when those bodies meet in July and August. We welcome your comments on the master plan—you can send them to Tom Kirwin (tkirwin@dallasuu.org) for distribution to the Facilities Team.

• Lifespan RE Curriculum: Correction: Our first installment to the UUA’s “Tapestry of Faith” curriculum-development project will be $25,000 (not the $50,000 previously reported); the payment will be made in June. Other installments will be made over the next four years, as certain milestones are reached.

• Capital Campaign: The Campaign will help us expand and improve our services to members and the community, welcome new congregants, share our beliefs with others, and provide space and staffing essential to our healthy growth. It is our gift to each other, our children, and the larger community, and will become our living legacy to all who follow. Commit what you can, but please consider a three-year “stretch” gift over and above your annual Canvass contribution. Pledges may be dropped off at or sent to the church office or placed in the collection plate. Our thanks to the nearly 300 households who as of June 13 have already
  pledged $5,668,589 toward our $9-million goal.
