Giving voice to your hopes can change you. As part of our theme, “Moving Forward,” we’ve provided small search journals for members to capture the keywords that best connect with their personal search.
Part of moving forward in our lives is reflecting clearly on who we are, what we are searching for, and what we want our future to look like. It is one thing to have a passing awareness of these things, and it is another to name them, and then remain open to what doing so may lead us to. In our sermons, classes, concerts, and events this year, we will be offering choices of “keywords” that relate to what we’re doing. We hope that you will use these small journals as a tool to record which keywords resonate with you as you engage our congregation in your search. Does a class where one of the keywords is “history” lead you to journal on your family and past? Does a sermon about “humility” call you to reflect on your own comfort zones and prejudices? The path does not look the same for everyone. Collect the words. Write them down. Add your own. What you discover as you continue to search for deeper meaning here will be your own. We hope, though, that you will engage in this search with us and share what you find with others.
Keywords Samples: Awareness, Identity, History, Belonging, Direction, Truth, Equality, Connection, Engagement, Community, Acceptance, Meaning, Support, Inspiration, Transformation, Mission, Service ,Justice, Vocation, Love
