Alan DyerAlan Dyer, Associate Director of Music

Alan Dyer is a widely respected choral director, performer, and music educator. In addition to his responsibilities as associate director of music at First Unitarian Church in Dallas, Alan is the founder and artistic director of The Texas Voices, a professional vocal ensemble based in Plano. He is also the Concert I accompanist for the Children’s Chorus of Greater Dallas and an adjunct faculty member at Texas Woman’s University. Alan also enjoys accompanying the choirs at Lovejoy High School. 

Alan has worked with renowned choral directors such as Dr. Lloyd Pfautsch and Cynthia Nott. He earned a master of music degree from Southern Methodist University and a bachelor’s degree in piano performance from Dallas Baptist University. He has also taken doctoral courses at the University of North Texas.

Alan is active in the American Choral Directors Association, the Texas Choral Directors Association, and the American Guild of Organists. In July 2006, Alan was the guest organist for a special mass at St. Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City, Rome.
