Love is the doctrine of our church; Two families image
The quest of truth is its sacrament,
And service is its prayer.
To dwell together in peace,
To seek knowledge in freedom,
To serve humanity in fellowship,
To the end that all souls shall
grow in harmony with the divine--
Thus do we covenant with each other...

Worship services at First Church provide an open environment for individuals to deepen their spirituality through music, readings, thought-provoking sermons, prayer and silence in a space designed to give the feeling of a clearing in the forest.

At each service the lighting of a chalice draws us to eternal truths beyond particular forms and rituals and symbols.

We gather for nurture, challenge and spiritual sustenance, testing the word that is preached in relation to our lived experience. We return to our daily lives with renewed commitment to the purposes of love and justice in our community through service to others.
