Apr 28 Volunteer Spotlight

This week we are featuring two all-star volunteers in Adult Ministries, Jose Alves and Mike Stanton. They generously donate their gifts, talents and time to leading Sunday morning class offerings for adults at First Church.

These dedicated volunteers guide members of the congregation as we develop our faith. They build community in the classroom and foster deep and meaningful discussion among participants.

Mike Stanton

Mike is a leader among the Adult Ministries Faculty and facilitates the Faith Forward series.

If you have participated in Beyond Inquirers, Spiritual Practice, UU History, or the current UU Theology series, you have witnessed Mike’s love for sharing our UU faith and leading the congregation in our spiritual development.

BIG thanks to Mike for everything he has contributed to Faith Forward and First Church!

Jose Alves

Jose leads the popular 9:00am Judeo-Christian Studies class every Sunday morning.

He has been leading the series since 2015, featuring video lectures and facilitating lively discussion on topics based on our Judeo-Christian roots.

Their current class focuses on Christianity in the Reformation era.

Thank you Jose for your dedication to this series and to First Church!
