Holiday Gift Drive:

To brighten the Winter holiday season, we sponsor the Department of Aging & Disabled Services (DADS) Gift Drive benefiting adults in the custody of the state. We have the opportunity to select and fulfill their specific gift wishes. Beginning November 12, our Holiday Gift Tree will be up in Channing. Stop by to select your adoptee.

Return wrapped and tagged gifts to the Community Service no later than Dec. 17

Reading Partners:

Help improve students reading skills who are reading 6 months to 2.5 years below grade level. Volunteers work 1 on 1 with DISD students for 45 minutes twice a week, following a structured, research-based curriculum. Reading Partners works with 19 different DISD schools, supporting students from low-income communities.

North TX Food Bank:

Join other Unitarians, bring family and friends (10 years & older) and have exercise and fun while you make a big impact on getting food out into our community where it's most needed. Wednesday, Dec. 6; and Saturday, Dec. 16, 1:00 to 3:30 pm. 4500 S. Cockrell Hill Rd. Wear close-toe shoes.

White Rock Lake Shoreline Spruce-Up:

Always the second Saturday of the month – December 9 this month. Enjoy the morning beauty of the lake by joining fellow UUs as we spruce up our adopted shoreline at White Rock Lake. Meet in the parking lot south of Fisher and West Lawther at 8:30 am. We provide the trash bags, gloves and reach-it tools. All ages welcome.

CitySquare Food Pantry:

Be a grocer the second Tuesday of each month for a few hours by helping distribute food to our neighbors in need. Some lifting and reaching required. Tuesday, Dec. 12, 1:00-4:00 at 1610 S. Malcom X Blvd.
