Promise House moves youth in crisis toward safety and success. Their programs include emergency shelter, transitional housing, pregnant and parenting teen support, counseling, street outreach, trafficking victim services and education assistance for homeless youth ages 0-24. By connecting at-risk youth with the resources and encouragement they need to become healthy, self-sufficient adults, Promise House works to prevent chronic homelessness in North Texas.
Funding from the First Unitarian Church of Dallas would cover vital program costs including food, clothing, shelter staff and utilities. It would also come at a critical time. In recognition of the great need in the North Texas community, Promise House is expanding their programs. In the last year, they have added two new transitional living group homes, doubled the capacity of their shelter and opened a drop-in center for trafficking victims.
