Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting – Dec 10

Sunday, December 10, 6:30-8:00pm, Pat Davidson Parlor
You DO NOT have to be a church member to attend.  Masks are optional.

The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting unites family and friends around the globe in lighting candles in memory of our sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, and grandchildren who left us too soon. Now believed to be the world’s largest mass candle lighting, the annual Worldwide Candle Lighting, a gift to the bereavement community from The Compassionate Friends, creates a virtual 24-hour wave of light as it moves from time zone to time zone.

Our evening begins at 6:30pm as we gather in the parlor.  Weather permitting, we will light candles in the Memorial Garden at 7:00pm, then return to the parlor to share remembrances and light refreshments.  Candles will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own candle if you prefer.

When:  Sunday, December 10, 2023, 6:30-8:00pm

Where:  First Unitarian Church 4015 Normandy Ave. Dallas, 75205

Parking:  On Normandy (north of the church), on St. Andrews (south of the church) or in the parking lot behind (east of) the church.  If you park on the south or east side of the church, follow the sidewalk east of the fellowship hall through the entrance to the garden.

Entrance:  The door on Normandy and the door into the church from the Memorial Garden will both be unlocked.  All other doors will be locked.

Bring: A picture or other remembrance of your loved one

We hope to share this special time of love and remembrance with you.

Nancy Watson, Rebecca Martin & Jana Houston

If you are unable to attend or are out of town, consider holding your own private candle lighting ceremony or attending a virtual candle lighting hosted by The Compassionate Friends. See their website for information.
